BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 20 ranked Baker University women's basketball team escaped the Collins Center with a 65-64 win over (RV) Central Methodist on Saturday afternoon to improve to 17-5 overall and 10-1 in the conference.

The victory is the 10th-straight in conference play and the 'Cats are now in first-place all alone in the HAAC standings. The Pioneers were scheduled to play Culver-Stockton on Saturday, but due to inclement weather the game has been rescheduled for Feb. 3.

BriAnna Garza again led the way with 19 points and shot 7-of-14 from the field and Macy Wallisch had another big game with a team high eight rebounds and four blocks.

Baker shot 27-of-58 for 46-percent and jumped out on a 20-5 run to begin the second half.

The 'Cats posted 22 points in the paint and featured eight second chance points and 20 points off the bench.

CMU was led by Morgan Vetter who knocked down three, three-point field goals and scored a team high 17.

The Eagles shot just 5-of-13 from three-point range and turned the ball over 14 points, they also lead by 13 points with 2:09 to go in the first half.

The Wildcats will next take on Graceland next Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
