No. 18 Baker Extends Streak to 11

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 18 ranked Baker University women's basketball team improved its Heart of America Athletic Conference winning streak to 11 games on Saturday, as they defeated Graceland, 91-80, to improve to 11-1 in the HAAC and 18-5 overall.

Baker entered the half with a 48-39 lead and never trailed in the second half, outscoring Graceland, 43-41, in the second frame.

BriAnna Garza had another terrific game for the 'Cats with a game high 26 points. Macy Wallisch registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Wildcats turned the ball over just 10 times and its bench had 23 points and as a team the 'Cats scored 28 points in the paint.

Jessica Smith had a team high 22 points for Graceland, while Yvette Bennett had a team high seven rebounds.

This marked the fourth time this season Baker has scored over 90 points. BU also posted four double-digit scorers, as Garza had 26, Wallisch had 11, Shea Shoemaker scored 15 and Kyrstie Ehm poured in 14.

The Wildcats outrebounded Graceland, 42-38, and had 10 offensive rebounds with Rashida Simpson comind down with three offensive rebounds.

Baker will return home next Thursday, Feb. 13 to take on (RV) Benedictine at 5:30 p.m. in the Collins Center.
