This marks the first conference championship for women's basketball since 1983 for the 'Cats and earns them an automatic bid into the 2014 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Tournament in Frankfort, Ky., from Mar. 19-25 at the Frankfort Convention Center.
Baker has also earned the No. 1 seed in next week's HAAC Conference Tournament which will be played on Thursday, Mar. 6, Saturday, Mar. 8 and the championship will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 11. Baker will host each game it plays in next week.
Macy Wallisch was dominant again for the 'Cats with nearly a triple-double, as she posted 10 blocks, 10 rebounds and six points.
Kyrstie Ehm led all players with 20 points, while BriAnna Garza had 16 and Shea Shoemaker poured in 12.
The Wildcats had to battle back from trailing, 30-25, at the half and allowed just 20 points to the Vikings in the second half.
Baker dominated the boards, outrebounding MVC, 55-36, and the Vikings were just 1-of-10 from behind the arc.
The Wildcats will next take on the No. 8 seed in the HAAC Conference tournament next Thursday, Mar. 6 at 7 p.m. inside the Collins Center.
