KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Baker University senior standout BriAnna Garza was named one of 128 players from across the nation to be named a 2013-14 Division I Women's Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, announced at the NAIA Division I Women's Basketball National Championship in Frankfort, Ky.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.

Garza had a stellar season for the 2013-14 Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season champion Wildcats.

The 2013-14 HAAC Player of the Year led Baker in scoring at 14.6 points per game and led the HAAC in assists per game at 4.59.

She was stellar at the NAIA National Championship tournament scoring 24 points in the Wildcats First Round win over No. 23 University of the Cumberlands and 25 in the NAIA Second Round loss to Bethel (Tenn.).
