Baker women fall in opener of Grand Canyon Classic
PHOENIX, Ariz. – Emily Gibson scored 18 points, one of three Baker players with double-digit scoring, as the Lady Cats‘ dropped the opening game of the Grand Canyon Classic on Thursday evening 61-72 to the University of Rio Grande (Ohio).
Baker (7-6) held a 45-42 lead with 11:34 remaining in the second half, but Rio Grande put together a 10-0 run with just under seven minutes remaining to open up 16-point lead from which they never looked back.

Baker women return to action Thursday afternoon
PHOENIX, Ariz. – After playing just once in the past 20 days due to final exams and the Christmas holiday break, Baker will return to action Thursday afternoon as it takes part in the Grand Canyon Holiday Classic at Southwestern College in Phoenix, Ariz. The Wildcats will tangle with The University of Rio Grande (Ohio) on Thursday and host Southwestern College (Ariz.) on Friday. Thursday’s contest will tipoff at 2 p.m. MST (3:00 p.m. CT). Friday’s action is set to tipoff at 12 p.m. MST (1 p.m. CST).
