Baker women cruise to 54-44 victory over Central Methodist
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Emily Gibson scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Baker University women to a 54-44 victory over Central Methodist on Thursday evening. Gibson currently ranks No. 1 nationally with 14 double-doubles on the year.
The Wildcats (14-8, 10-2) shot 37 percent from the field and 27 percent from beyond the arc.
Blocks were the story of the game. The Wildcats recorded a season-high eight blocks with Emily Gibson and Aubree Gustin each swatting three apiece.

Turnovers plague Wildcats in 62-73 loss at Benedictine
ATCHISON, Kan. - After battling to a 78-72 overtime win on Monday evening, the Baker women's basketball team dropped its second conference game of the season Thursday night.
The Ravens (12-8, 7-4) forced the Wildcats (12-8, 8-2) into a season-high 24 turnovers en route to its fourth straight conference victory.
"Turnovers killed us. You can't turn the ball over that many times and expect to win the basketball game," said head coach Susan Decker.

The Baker Wildcats will travel to rival Benedictine College on Thursday, Jan. 28 for a 5:30 p.m. showdown with the Ravens. The Wildcats, 12-7 on the season and 8-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play, are coming off a 78-72 overtime win on Monday at Central Methodist University (8-12, 2-8).

Baker women escape with 78-72 overtime victory
FAYETTE, Mo. - Four Wildcats scored in double digits as Baker gutted out a 78-72 win over Central Methodist University Monday at Puckett Field House.
With 11 seconds remaining in regulation, the Wildcats held a one-point lead over Central Methodist. As the ball was inbounded, two CMU players trapped Aubree Gustin, forcing a turnover that ultimately put Baker in a situation in which they had to foul the Eagles' best free throw shooter. She missed her second free throw, sending the game into overtime, and the Wildcats sealed the road victory.

Baker set to take on Central Methodist University
FAYETTE, Mo. - The Baker women's basketball team (11-7, 7-1) returns to the hardwood Monday when it travels to Fayette, Mo., to take on Central Methodist University (8-11, 2-7). Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. (CST) in Puckett Field House.
The Wildcats enter Monday's tilt with a 2-5 record in road games. Last time out, Baker defeated Graceland University, 81-49. Junior Aubree Gustin led three Wildcat players in double-figure points with 17 in the contest.

Three Wildcats score in double digits in 81-49 victory
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker women's basketball team bounced back Saturday afternoon, defeating Graceland University 81-49 at the George F. Collins Center. With the win, the Wildcats improved to 11-7 overall and 7-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
Three players finished in double figures, and junior forward Aubree Gustin (pictured) led the way with 17 points. Junior Emily Gibson recorded her 11th double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Junior guard Brittany Hines added 13 points on 5-of-11 shooting.

Wildcats succumb to second half surge
OLATHE, Kan. - Despite leading for more than 18 minutes in the first half, the Baker women's basketball team fell 53-62 on Thursday evening. Junior guard Jenna Brantley (pictured) led the scoring attack for the Wildcats with 11 points while shooting 5-14 from the field and 1-5 from beyond the arc.
The Pioneers (10-8, 5-3) were not intimidated by the Wildcats' (10-7, 6-1) top ranking in the conference and outscored the Wildcats 35-24 in the second half.

Baker to take on conference foe MidAmerica Nazarene Thursday evening
OLATHE, Kan. - The Baker women (10-6, 6-0) look to remain flawless in conference play as they travel Thursday to MidAmerica Nazarene University (9-8, 4-3). Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Cook Center, which has proven to be a difficult venue for the Wildcats, who have gone 1-8 while visiting the Pioneers over the past nine years.
Baker looks to turn things around, however, by keeping the momentum gained by a 73-53 win over Missouri Valley College. Junior standout Emily Gibson (pictured) paved the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Gibson leads the Wildcats, averaging 14.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.6 steals per game.
