Wildcats ink Colorado standout Taylor Chase
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – Baker University head women’s basketball coach Ben Lister announced the signing of Taylor Chase on Feb. 6.
Chase, a senior from Thunder Ridge High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo., comes from a program that’s known for its championship success, having won three state championships over the past four seasons. Currently in her senior season, Chase is averaging 12 points, six rebounds, and three steals per game. Her biggest accolade of late was being named to the elite all-tournament team at the 2011 Nike Tournament of Champions.

Shelbi Petty nets career-high 25 points in 66-60 victory over Missouri Valley
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker freshman Shelbi Petty continued her dominant play on Saturday afternoon notching a career-high 25 points en route to a 66-60 victory over Missouri Valley College.
Petty, a freshman from DeSoto, Kan., has averaged 17.5 points over her last four games while notching back-to-back career-high performances after scoring 19 points against Avila University on Jan. 26.

Turnovers plague Baker in 70-57 loss to Benedictine
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Gloria Atanmo racked up her seventh double-double of the season netting 15 points with 16 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough as Baker committed 26 turnovers and shot only 20-for-59 (34 percent) from the field in a 70-57 loss to Benedictine College on Thursday evening.
Benedictine (10-8, 5-2 HAAC) took a 35-24 lead into the break and never looked back from that point forward. Baker pulled to within five points at 35-30 just three minutes into the half, but a 13-3 run by the Ravens over the next five minutes sealed the game.

Arizona standout Coee Carrieres signs with Baker
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University head women’s basketball coach Ben Lister continues to prep his team for future success as the Wildcats announced the signing of Mesquite High School (Ariz.) standout Coee Carrieres.
Carrieres a 6’2 forward will continue to add depth to the Baker University front line in 2012. The Gilbert, Ariz., native tallied career-highs of 16 blocks, 15 rebounds, and 20 points during her time with the Wildcats.

Bench scoring keys MNU past Baker, 79-56
OLATHE, Kan. – After winning three-straight games, the Baker women’s basketball team fell to rival MidAmerica Nazarene, 79-56 on Thursday evening.
Alisha Fanshier was the only Wildcat to score in double figures with 11 points on a 4-for-16 shooting performance from the floor. Freshman Avery Voghts added nine points and Shelbi Petty chipped in with seven in a game that saw the Wildcats get outscored 40-23 via the bench.

Baker women with third-straight game with 75-67 win over Culver-Stockton
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University women’s basketball team rattled off its third-straight victory Saturday afternoon with a 75-67 victory over Culver-Stockton College.
Junior Alisha Fanshier led all Baker scorers with a game-high 21 points and senior Gloria Atanmo tied a career-high, netting 19 points while pulling down eight rebounds. Freshman Shelbi Petty and Kyra Ramsey added 16 and 10 points respectively in a game that never saw the Wildcats trail.

Fanshier leads Baker in 84-66 rout over Peru State College
PERU, Neb. - Five players scored in double figures as the Baker women’s basketball team picked up its second consecutive win on Thursday evening with a 84-66 victory over Peru State College.
Junior Alisha Fanshier scored a team-high 21 points, 13 of which came from the charity-stripe. Four other players scored in double figures as Rashida Simpson added 16, Avery Vogts tallied 12, while Shlbi Petty and Gloria Atanmo each finished with 10.

Baker women look to make strides in second half of 2011-12 season
HILLSBORO, Kan. – Baker University head women’s basketball coach Ben Lister believes some of the growing pains the team suffered in the first half of the season, could potentially pay off in the second half.
The Wildcats closed out the first half of the season with a 58-48 victory over Tabor College on Dec. 31., in the Tabor Holiday Classic. Three players Alisha Fanshier (17 points), Gloria Atanmo (15 points), and Shelbi Petty (12 points) all scored in double figures to lead the Wildcats offensively.
