Three-time All-American from Wichita State, coaches BU's bowling team
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The bowling team consists of eight players: Caitlin Campbell (pictured), Samantha Lehr, Amanda Sams, Chloe Mercer, Shelby Gitchel, Bethany Hastings, Lauren Yonkey and Whitney Preston.
“Since the beginning, the girls have came together as a team,” said head coach Kristal Wilson. “It’s been amazing watching them grow and better understand the sport of bowling. They have been working hard and it shows. We will continue to work hard and improve as a team.”
Campbell and Lehr lead the team. Campbell averages a score of 170.2 per game and Lehr averages 158.9. Campbell has finished in the top 20 of two events this season — the Mid-States Classic and Ozark Invitational. Lehr’s best finish was at the Ozark Invitational, where she placed 19th, averaging a score of 160.8 in five games.
Baker will travel in February to Fairview Heights, Ill., for the McKendree/Baker Challenge.
