Sophomores Brittany Barker (30th place) and Emily Buhler (34th place) posted respective averages of 183.8 and 180.2 to round out the top three. Junior Amanda Sams came off the bench to bowl the final five games in the tournament, averaging her highest-ever total of 167.4 per game and was named the MVP of the tournament.
The Wildcats closed out their holiday swing with another ninth-place finish in the Glen Carlson Las Vegas Invitational. Baker set new team records of 1027 and 1039 pins.
Freshman Carly Schmidtlein paced the Wildcats with an average of 197.8 over nine games to finish 14th overall. CaitlinCampbell took home 16th with an average of 195.4 and Emily Buhler rounded out Baker’s top three with an average of 191.5 and was named the MVP of the tournament.
“We’ve put in a lot of hard work and it was great to see it pay off for these ladies,” said head coach Cheryl Keslar. “We look forward to what the rest of 2012 has in store for us.”
Baker returns to action on Jan. 21-22 at the Blue and Gold Classic, sponsored by the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
