LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Baker University Bowling team had its best finish of the young 2012-13 season with a second-place finish at the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge, which was held November 3-4 at the Royal Crest Lanes, in Lawrence, Kan.

The Wildcats finished only behind NCAA Division I Wichita State. Baker's spare percentage was 20-percent higher than it has ever been, which contributed to the Wildcats high finish.

Two Wildcats made the All-Tournament Team, which was a record for Baker in competition. Those two 'Cats were Caitlin Campbell and Carly Schmidtlein. Campbell led the team with a 4th-place individual finish score of 1,270, averaging 211 for six games, while Schmidtlein averaged a 210 for a 5th-place individual finish.

Baker also had a total of five players finish in the Top 20 including Brittany Barker in 11th place, Chloe Mercer, who was the tournament MVP finished with a career high placing of 16th, and Brittani Kelly took in 18th.

"We performed very well over the weekend and I'm very proud of our effort," said head coach Cheryl Keslar. "We would like to thank our fans for coming out and supporting us, it meant a lot to have a home field advantage."

Baker's next tournament will take place in Davenport, Iowa in the Leatherneck Classic on November 10-11, 2012.
