BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – After finishing last season ranked No. 16 in the NAIA, the Baker University bowling team has bounced back with another strong showing in their 2013-2014 campaign.

In their most recent contest, the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic – Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind., Baker finished 19th out of 64 competing schools comprised of both NAIA and NCAA institutions. The Wildcats finished ahead of the likes of Ohio State University, University of Louisville, Michigan State University, Indiana University, and Ball State University respectfully.

The team of Brittani Kelly, Becca Wood, Ally Eckert, Allyson Ware, and Heather Wright each finished in the top half of the 416 person field with Brittani Kelly, Becca Wood, and Heather Wright each finishing in the top 56 spots.

Coach Keslar was very pleased with her teams' performance, "Finishing 19th out of 64 is a great accomplishment when you only have five girls on your roster, and every other team has eight. Having eight gives you the opportunity to rotate girls in and out of your lineup when a player or players are struggling."

Currently ranked 30th nationally and 15th in the NAIA, the 'Cats are set to compete in sectionals located in Addison, Ill. on Saturday, March 15th. To advance to the national tournament held in Reno, Nevada, Baker must finish in the top four collectively at sectionals.
