Baker takes down William Jewell 26-6Richie Bryant

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Wildcats got off to a slow start on Saturday afternoon when they took on conference rival William Jewell College. Richie Bryant led the way for the Baker offense amassing 228 yards of total offense, 151 yards on the ground and 77 receiving.

Baker broke the game open in the 3rd quarter when senior quarterback Mack Brown threw a 77 yard touchdown pass to Bryant to put the Wildcats ahead 19-6.

Quarterback Mack Brown continues to close in on the 8,000 yard mark for his career. With his 130 yards of passing today he now sits at 7,910 yards in his career ranking No. 1 all-time on the Baker charts.

Senior defensive lineman Levi Calhoun led the Baker defense with 14 tackles and 1.5 sacks for a total loss of 9.5 yards on the afternoon.

Baker closed the game out for good, when junior defensive back Colton Miller sacked the William Jewell quarterback forcing a fumble that was recovered by Matt Brock for a 92 yard touchdown return to put Baker ahead 26-6.

Baker recorded their fourth consecutive win over the Cardinals of William Jewell.

Baker will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Evangel University for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.

Junior defensive end Andrew Patch and junior defensive back Colton Miller continue to lead the conference defensively.  Patch recorded eight tackles on the afternoon, three of which came for a loss of 14.5 yards.  Miller recorded 12 tackles, one forced fumble and one pass breakup.

Baker now leads the all-time series with William Jewell College 44-35-4.
