Kyle Rooks got the scoring started with a two-yard touchdown run at 12:31 and the Wildcats responded jus two minutes later on a 64-yard touchdown pass from Jake Morse to Jake Green.
Ryder Werts led the defensive effort with 16 tackles while Madison Morris and Steven Sanders each chipped in with timely interceptions.
“I pulled Ryder aside late in the game and said you sure are a field general now,” said defensive coordinator Jason Thoren. “The guy has played great each and every week, he’s a heck of a football player.”
John Babb broke free on a 57-yard touchdown run with 6:26 to go in regulation and Jake Morse put the icing on the cake with 4:32 remaining on a one-yard TD draw.
John Babb finished as the ‘Cats top rusher with 12 carries for 109 yards with one touchdown. Quarterback Jake Morse finished 18-for-29 with 183 yards and one TD.
“We play another big time opponent next week, but it’s that time in the season where its not about who we’re playing, it’s about us,” Thoren added. “This is what we worked for all summer.”
Baker will return to action next weekend when they travel to No. 7 Missouri Valley College for a 6 p.m. showdown with the Vikings.
