BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 12 ranked Baker University football team sent its seniors off with a bang in a 40-7 win over Graceland University on Saturday afternoon at Liston Stadium.

The Wildcats ended the regular season, 8-2 overall and 7-2 in the HAAC and will now wait until Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. to see if they've earned a spot in the NAIA FCS Playoffs.

The NAIA will announce which 16 schools qualify for the national playoffs on Selection Sunday and you can catch the full release of all 16 teams at if the Wildcats earn a spot, it will be for the first time since the 2008 season.

With the loss Graceland fell to 5-6 overall and 4-5 in the HAAC and have now lost five straight to the Wildcats.

Baker had a banner day offensively with 525 total yards and 358 yards rushing along with 167 yards passing.

The Wildcat defense was like a brick wall all day long, holding the Yellowjackets to just 89 yards rushing and 30 yards passing, for a total of 119 yards.

Andre Jolly had two more sacks to give him 15 on the year and broke the school record for most sacks in a season, doing so in just his sophomore year.

Dillon Baxter had another big game for the 'Cats with his season high 188 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry on 24 attempts.

Senior quarterback Sam Vossen was efficient, going 10-of-15 from the field for 152 yards and two touchdowns.

His touchdown scores went to Jake Green with 6:58 to go in the first half for 12 yards and to Reggie Harris for 59 yards just before halftime.

Mike Stevenson gave the Wildcats a touchdown on defense in the third quarter right after the break when he intercepted Graceland QB Matt Fink and took the ball 42 yards for the score.

Allen Troyer gave Baker its last touchdown of the day when he scored with 1:29 left in the third quarter on a 19 yard carry to put Baker up for good, 40-7.

This group of 21 seniors has amassed an overall record of 29-12 and 27-11 in its time at Baker and hope to keep improving that record as the NAIA Playoffs quickly approach next Saturday, Nov. 17.

Jolly led the Wildcats with five tackles, including 3.5 for loss and forced a fumble. Preston Schenck had four tackles of his own, as did senior Ryder Werts.
