Baker Falls to No. 13 in Football Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After falling to rival Benedictine College for the first time since the 2005 season, the Baker University football team dropped from No. 8 to No. 13 in this week's NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 poll.

The Wildcats are now 2-1 on the season after losing on the road at Benedictine, 42-28, last Saturday.

Baker is one of four teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference ranked in this week's poll, as Missouri Valley is the highest ranked team at No. 9, Missouri Valley follows them at No. 10 and Peru State enters the poll for the first time this season coming in at No. 23.

The Wildcats are one spot behind No. 12 Ottawa University, who Baker defeated back on Sept. 7 in the 'County Line Clash', 25-24.

Baker will take on Avila University this Saturday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. for Family Day and Armed Forces night.

Saturday will also mark the 100th career game for Baker head coach Mike Grossner. The 10-year head coach will lead the Wildcats for the 100th time in his career, he currently boasts a career record of 56-43, the fourth most wins in school history.
