BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The No. 11 ranked Baker University football team will hit the road this Saturday, Oct. 12 to take on fellow Heart of America Athletic Conference opponent Culver-Stockton College at 2 p.m. in Canton, Mo.

The Wildcats come in with a 4-1 record and 2-1 mark in the HAAC, while the CSC Wildcats enter the contest with an 0-5 overall mark and 0-3 record in the HAAC.

Baker is 30-3 all-time and Baker head coach Mike Grossner is 8-1 against Culver. Baker hasn't lost to the Wildcats since 2006 when they fell at CSC, 20-17, in overtime.

Baker has won two straight home games the past two week's including an impressive 37-20 win over rival MidAmerica Nazarene last Saturday at home, snapping a 13-game skid against the Pioneers.

Culver-Stockton's five losses have come to Lindenwood-Belleville, 29-23, Sterling, 42-30, Central Methodist, 37-36, Missouri Valley, 29-6 and Evangel, 34-28.

The last time, these two met was back in Canton last Oct. 27, 2012 and the Wildcats won, 29-9.

This season, Baker is putting up big numbers on offense averaging 464.4 total yards per game with 187.4 yards rushing per game and 277 yards passing.

They have also out scored their opponents, 194-143, and average 38.8 points per game. On defense, the 'Cats have force 11 turnovers and have a +5 turnover margin. Baker has forced five fumbles and picked off six passes.

Culver-Stockton has only averaged 24.6 points per game and has been out scored by its opponents, 171-123. Good news for Baker is that CSC also surrenders 203.4 yards per game, so the Wildcats hope that Dillon Baxter, Camren Torneden and the rest of the running backs have a big day.

Baxter is averaging 100.8 yards per game on the ground and Torneden averages 63.3 per game. Baxter has two touchdowns rushing and Torneden has one, leading the way with three touchdown runs is fullback Alex Stebbins with three.

Defensively, Darrick Smith leads the team in tackles with 31 and Tucker Pauley is second with 27. Five different 'Cats have picked off a pass this season including Pauley, Emmerson Clarke, Preston Schenck, Gunnar McKenna and Preston Randolph.
