Baker and GU will square off for the 45th time on Saturday at Huntsman Field. The Wildcats have the 31-12-1 overall edge on the Yellowjackets and last fell to GU during the 2007 season, which was a 23-15 loss.
Baker enters the game with an 8-1 record and 6-1 mark in the HAAC and have won six straight games. With a win, Baker would reach nine wins for the first time under head coach Mike Grossner. The Wildcats have had eight wins on two different occasions since Grossner took over in the 2004 season.
Baker went 8-3 in 2012 and reached the NAIA-FCS Playoffs and went 8-4 in 2008, also reaching the postseason.
Graceland comes into the game with a 1-8 record, and feature wide receiver Raysean Brown who has totaled 766 yards and seven touchdowns on 41 receptions.
Brown has totaled at least 100 yards in four games this season, and has scored two touchdowns in two contests. His best performance was a win against Mayville State (N.D.) when he accumulated 120 yards and two touchdowns on three receptions. He also gained 132 yards on a season high eight receptions in a 34-0 loss at McPherson.
The Yellowjackets are coming off of a 45-20 loss to MidAmerica Nazarene last Saturday, where the team only scored seven points in the second half. GU gained 326 yards of total offense led by runningback Mathis Thomas who had 174 yards and a touchdown on the ground on 22 carries.
Baker's Scott Meyer, Camren Torneden, and Adonis Powell led the way offensively last week for Baker against Evangel. Meyer gained 136 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, while Torneden and Powell also eclipsed 100 yards. Torneden had 125 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while Powell gained 104 yards and a score on 12 carries.
The Baker defense had another solid game forcing three turnovers. Darrick Smith picked off two passes including one for a touchdown, and now has seven on the season, leading the NAIA. Tucker Pauley has 58 tackles on the season after leading the Wildcats with six against the Crusaders.
