BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University head football coach Mike Grossner became just the second head coach in Baker football history since 1980 to be named Conference Coach of the Year, as he was named the 2013 HAAC Coach of the Year after leading the Wildcats to a share of the HAAC regular season championship and a school-record 11 wins.

The last Baker head coach to earn the distinction was Hall of Fame coach Charlie Richard who won the award six times, with the last award coming in 1993.

The Wildcats also earned 24 All-Conference awards on Monday, highlighted by First Team awards for Sheldon Jacks, Clarence Clark and Darrick Smith.

Clark actually earned two First Team All-Conference awards, as he was named the HAAC First Team kicker and garnered a spot on the HAAC First Team Defense as an athlete. He was also named a HAAC Second Team wide receiver.

Joining Clark on the Second Team All-Conference Offensive team were teammates Justin McCandless, Dillon Baxter and Jake Morse.

Baker landed five players on the Second Team All-Conference defensive team, as Emmerson Clarke, Austin Hamm, Mike Stevenson, Gunnar McKenna and Adam Novak were all honored. Novak was the only freshman named to the All-HAAC Defensive Second Team.

Punter Bryan Williams and running back Camren Torneden were named to the Third Team All-Conference.

Four 'Cats earned spots on the HAAC Honorable Mention team, as TJ Holtrop, Tyler Hatcher, Michael Lisher and Scott Meyer were selected.

Rounding out the final awards for BU were Honorable Mention All-Conference defense selections Nick Becker, Myron Tipton, Tucker Pauley, Duane Sims and Camren Torneden.

The No. 4 ranked Wildcats will next take on No. 5 Morningside this Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. at Liston Stadium in the NAIA Football Championship Series Quarterfinals.
