Baker Ends 2013 Ranked No. 5

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After one of its most successful seasons in the rich history of the Baker University football program, the Wildcats finished the 2013 season ranked No. 5 in the 2013 NAIA Football Coaches; Top 25 poll, marking the highest ranking to end a season in the 10-year tenure of head coach Mike Grossner.

The Wildcats ended the season with a record of 11-2, the most wins in a season in school history and hosted back-to-back playoff games for the first time since 1993.

Baker not only performed well on the field, but off of it as well, landing nine Daktronics-NAIA scholar-athletes, the third most scholar-athletes on one football team in the NAIA in 2013 and were awarded 24 HAAC All-Conference honors, highlighted by the HAAC Coach of the Year honor going to Grossner.

The Wildcats were one of four teams from the HAAC ranked in the final poll, as Baker was the highest ranked team in the conference at No. 5 followed by No. 7 Missouri Valley, No. 9 Benedictine and No. 24 Peru State.
