No. 8 MidAmerica escapes past Baker 33-30
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Eighth-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene got a scare on Saturday afternoon as they managed to escape Liston Stadium with a 33-30 victory.
Andrew Kimrey put the Wildcats on the board first with a field goal with 6:37 remaining in the first quarter, but MNU quickly responded scoring in less than two minutes to take back the lead on a Sean Ransburg touchdown pass to Branden Phillips.
BU’s highlight play of the first half came on a double pass from Jake Morse to Xavier Lewis, who then threw a 38-yard touchdown strike to Jake Green, giving Baker a 10-7 lead.

Wildcats host No. 8 MNU Saturday afternoon in blackout game
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University football team will look for another marquee victory at Liston Stadium this weekend when it hosts No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Wildcats (3-2 overall, 2-2 HAAC) are coming off a 38-7 defeat last week to No. 6 Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo.
Saturday also marks the Wildcats’ ‘BLACKOUT’ game. All Baker fans are encouraged to wear black T-shirts to the game, or purchase the custom-made blackout T-shirts at the Baker tent at Liston.

No. 6 Missouri Valley cruises to 38-7 victory over No. 22 Baker
MARSHALL, Mo. – The Baker University football team remains winless on the road after falling to Missouri Valley College 38-7 on Saturday evening.
Baker scored its only touchdown with just four minutes remaining in regulation as Sam Vossen connected with Kyle Bolton for a 25-yard score, the longest play of the game for the Wildcats.
Offensively, the running game was stagnant as Baker had only 22 yards on 28 attempts. The Wildcats finished the game with 169 yards of total offense, while Missouri Valley racked up 487 yards.

Wildcats set for showdown with Missouri Valley College
MARSHALL, Mo. – The 22nd ranked Baker University football team will take its show to the road for the second time this season when it faces sixth-ranked Missouri Valley College on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Wildcats (3-1, 2-1 HAAC) are coming off a 31-7 victory over Central Methodist last Saturday. Baker entered the fourth quarter trailing 7-3, before going on a 28-0 run in the final quarter.
Quarterback Jake Morse completed 18 of 29 passes for 183 yards and one touchdown. Morse, John Babb and Kyle Rooks all scored on TD runs. Jake Green finished as Baker’s top receiver with five receptions for 102 yards and one touchdown.

Wildcats move up four spots in NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Baker University football team moved up for sports in the Sept. 19 NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 poll to No. 22.
Three other Heart of America Athletic Conference teams are represented in the poll, including next week’s opponent No. 6 Missouri Valley College, No. 9 MidAmerica Nazarene and No. 13 Benedictine College.
The Wildcats travel to Missouri Valley College on Saturday for a 6 p.m. kickoff in Marshall, Mo.

Huge fourth quarter propels Baker past CMU 31-7
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Throw away the first three quarters and look at the way the Wildcats played in the fourth quarter is probably what the coaches will be saying come Sunday morning.
Baker (3-1) trailed 10-7 heading into the fourth quarter after only capitalizing on one drive in the first half courtesy of a 31-yard field goal from Andrew Kimrey. Central Methodist (1-2) didn’t get on the scoreboard until the third quarter when the Eagles put together an eight play 62-yard scoring drive that was capped off by a Caleb Haynes touchdown run.
Baker turned on the after burners in the fourth.

Wildcats return home to play Central Methodist
Baker University, coming off its first loss of the season, will play host to Central Methodist in Heart of America Athletic Conference football on Saturday. Kickoff for the Baker Family Day contest is 6 p.m. at Liston Stadium.
The Wildcats (2-1 overall and 1-1 in the HAAC) suffered a 34-27 setback to Evangel last week after outscoring their first two opponents 96-28. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak. Central Methodist (1-1, 1-1) opened the season with 24-0 loss to MidAmerica Nazarene before bouncing back with a 30-0 shutout over Avila. The Eagles finished last season with a 3-7 record.

Evangel edges No. 23 Baker, 34-27
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel grabbed an early lead on Saturday and didn’t look back.
The Crusaders opened the game with a 3:22 scoring drive as quarterback Andrew Brimhall connected with Shawn Herbert on a 22-yard pass.
Baker followed with a 72-yard drive inside the 10-yard line, but had to settle for one of its four field goals in the game.
