Rivalry renewed, No. 24 Baker and No. 9 Ottawa set for gridiron battle
OTTAWA, Kan. – Storied history, past glory, and winning tradition are all things that come to mind when you think about the Baker and Ottawa rivalry.
Both teams have trophy cases showcasing past victories against each other, yet the teams have not faced off with each other since 1993. It only seems fitting in a season celebrating 120 years of Baker football, that the two teams meet again in the Victory Sports Network First Down Classic.

Tickets are now on sale for the Victory Sports Network First Down Classic
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Advance tickets for the Victory Sports Network First Down Classic went on sale today. No. 9 Ottawa and No. 24 Baker are set to kick off at 6 p.m. CST at People's Bank Field on the campus of Ottawa on Saturday.
Join Baker University and Kansas State Bank for a free pregame tailgate as we renew the rivalry before the 2010 season opener. A Baker tent will be set-up at the corner of 11th and Mulberry Streets. All alumni, students, parents, faculty and staff are welcome under the tent on the Ottawa campus.
Wildcats not surprised by No. 24 ranking
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Expectations for a strong football season are nothing new in the Mike Grossner era at Baker University. But as far as other coaches are concerned, the Wildcats aren't one of the top programs to fear.
The Wildcats are ranked No. 24 in the NAIA Football Preseason Coaches' Poll, and were picked fifth in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Victory Sports Network set to broadcast HAAC Media Day
The Baker football team looks to enter 2010 in the preseason Top 25.
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker football head coach Mike Grossner will take the podium to discuss the upcoming season with members of the local media at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Football Media Day on Monday, August 9th. The conference event will take place at Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals.
The Victory Sports Network has announced it will broadcast the event live beginning at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Grand Island, Neb. – Victory Sports Network, the world's largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, today announced that the Ottawa University Braves will host the Baker University Wildcats in the fourth annual Victory Sports First Down Classic. The football game is tentatively set to kick-off on Saturday, August 28th at 6 p.m. Central Time at People's Bank Field in Ottawa, Kan.

Wildcats ranked No. 24 in preseason coaches poll
The Wildcats enter 2010 ranked No.24 nationally.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second-straight year, Baker University will come into the 2010 campaign ranked in the Top 25 nationally.
Despite losing two of their top offensive performers, running back Richie Bryant (two-time all-conference first-team selection) and quarterback Mack Brown (all-time passing leader in school history), the Wildcats edged their way into the poll at No.24.
