Baker’s last win came Jan. 2 against Bethel College. The team’s latest defeat came from the hands of conference leader Central Methodist University. The 51-79 loss leaves Baker looking for its first conference win of the year. On the season, Baker averages 57.78 points against conference members while allowing 77.33.
Benedictine enters the game coming off two straight losses against Missouri Valley College and MidAmerica Nazarene University. Despite the loss against MNU, the Ravens posted a season-high 93 points. In conference play, Benedictine averages 71.50 points and gives up 69.30.
Baker junior Andre Strozier (pictured) leads the Wildcats, averaging 13.42 points per game and 7.95 rebounds. Malcolm Greer follows close behind with an average of 12.53 points per game. In the December matchup against Benedictine, Greer had 14 points and Strozier posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Benedictine junior Chris Bonham leads the HAAC in blocks, averaging 3.47 per game. In their last meeting with Baker, Bonham and Geno McNeil led their team with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
BATTLE ON THE BOARDS
Thursday’s game will be a clash between two top-five HAAC rebounders. Baker’s Strozier averages 7.95 rebounds per game, placing him fifth overall in the HAAC. On the other side of the court, Benedictine’s Bonham is second on the list, with a 10.05 average. Both players had 10 rebounds during their last meeting.
Baker plays at Lindenwood University Saturday, Jan. 30 at 8:30 p.m. The Wildcats lost the previous matchup with the Lions by a score of 57-70.
