Bond leads Wildcats to second consecutive victoryAustin Bond

HILLSBORO, Kan. – After a thrilling 53-52 victory on Thursday evening, the Baker Wildcats didn’t disappoint in their season encore Friday night at Tabor College.

Senior Austin Bond came up just shy of a double-double, scoring 19 points with 9 rebounds to lead all Wildcat scorers.

Baker went on an 11-0 run in the final five minutes of the first half to take a 36-28 lead into the break.

The ‘Cats didn’t slow down. Baker amounted another 9-4 run to push the score to 45-32.

Just like Thursday, it didn’t hold up.

The Wildcats saw their lead dwindle all the way down to three points with less than 30 seconds remaining in regulation before Austin Bond was fouled and sealed the game at the charity stripe.

Seniors Jaris Wommack and Andre Strozier each chipped in with 13 and eight points respectively.

Baker (2-0) will return to action on Nov. 10th when they travel to Friends University for an 8 p.m. tipoff.

A full box score was not submitted as of Friday evening. Check back for full stats on Saturday morning.
