With the victory Baker moved into fifth place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Standings. Baker will travel to MidAmerica Nazarene (12-16, 7-11 HAAC) for a key showdown on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Missouri Valley College (12-15, 6-11 HAAC) finished the game with three players in double figures as Chris Hortman led the way scoring 19 points on a 5-for-15 shooting performance. Toray Henry added 13 points and Bryan Corly chipped in with 13.
Baker has now won five consecutive games on its home court.
“I always think it’s important to defend your home floor,” said head coach Brett Ballard. “The guys are playing tough and we’ve got a big game looming on Thursday evening in Olathe.”
