Baker (5-2) was outrebounded 43-22 overall and 15-8 on offensive rebounds. The Wildcats shot 24-for-54 (44 percent) from the floor and 6-for-16 (38 percent) from beyond the arc.
Senior Jack Shortell had another solid effort, just missing another double-double with eight points and seven rebounds. Corey Anderson also added nine points on a 3-for-6 shooting performance from beyond the arc.
McPherson (8-0) had three players score in double figures in the contest as Chris Crawford and Samson Shivers led the team with 18 points. Jordan Crawford added 15 points and seven rebounds.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday afternoon against Bethany (Kan.) at 2:00 p.m.
