Joe Wachter finished the game as Baker’s leading scorer with 17 points on a 6-for-10 shooting performance from the floor. Ben Steinlage was the only other Wildcat in double figures with 10 points. Jack Shortell led the Wildcats yet again defensively pulling down 11 rebounds with eight points.
Baker (12-7, 5-3 HAAC) outrebounded Benedictine 43-27 overall with a 14-6 advantage on offensive rebounds and 29-21 advantage defensively. The Wildcats also outscored Benedictine 24-10 in the paint, while committing only 13 turnovers in the game.
Benedictine (10-8, 5-2 HAAC) had only one player score in double figures as Quaran Johnson led the Ravens with 13 points.
The Wildcats return to action on Jan. 21 when they travel to Central Methodist University for a 4 p.m., tipoff in Fayette, Mo.
