BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Julian Mills' three-point basket as time expired in regulation that sent the game to overtime wasn't enough, as Baker University fell to rival MidAmerica Nazarene, 92-87, on Thursday night at the Collins Center.

Mills knocked in a deep three-pointer right in front of the Baker bench to tie things up at 78-78 at the buzzer and sent the Wildcat nation in a frenzy and the contest into overtime.

But the Pioneers outscored Baker, 14-9, in the extra frame and improved to 13-5 overall and tied for first-place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings with a 5-1 record.

The Wildcats, under first-year head coach Sean Dooley, fell to 9-7 overall and 2-4 in the HAAC, dropping its second straight contest in overtime. They fell at Culver-Stockton, 88-75, in OT last Saturday.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures including team leader Ben Steinlage with 23, EJ Carter with 13, and Chris Lockhart and Jordan Honore each had 11.

Mills had nine points, five rebounds and a team high four assists in 30 minutes of action for Baker.

Leading the way for the Pioneers was Conner Langrehr with his 22 points and Luke Thomas added a team high 11 rebounds to go along with 17 points.

Each team took good care of the basketball, with just 12 turnovers for MNU and 11 for Baker.

The Wildcats will next take on Graceland University this Saturday, Jan. 12 at 4 p.m. in Lamoni, Iowa.
