BU Continues Skid with Loss at CMU

FAYETTE, Mo. – The Baker University men's basketball team fell in its fifth straight Heart of America Athletic Conference game on Saturday in a 64-50 road loss at Central Methodist University.

The Wildcats were looking for the season sweep of the Eagles, as Baker defeated CMU, 65-55, back on Jan. 19 at the Collins Center.

Baker is still in search of its first win in the month of February, as they last won back on Jan. 31 against Graceland.

With the win, Central Methodist improves to 18-11 and 11-6 in the HAAC and all alone in fourth place in the standings, while the Wildcats fell to 14-13 and 7-10 in the HAAC, alone in sixth place.

The Eagles led from the opening tip to the final whistle and was led in scoring by Alex Barner's 15 points,

Ben Steinlage scored in double figures in his ninth-straight game with 17 points and just missed a double-double with his nine rebounds.

Baker shot just 1-of-6 from three-point range and Corey Anderson was the only Wildcats to knock in a three, he finished with nine points.

Baker held CMU to 44.1-percent shooting and 8-of-21 from behind the arc. Baker will return home this Monday, Feb. 25 to take on Benedictine in the final HAAC regular season game of the season.
