PERU, Neb. – Despite an impressive 31 points from EJ Carter, the Baker University men's basketball team fell to the University of St. Mary, 97-91, in double overtime on Friday night at the HAAC/KCAC Classic.

The Classic was held on the campus of Peru State University in Peru, Neb., and the Wildcat offense put up 91 points with the help of four players scoring in double figures, as Carter dropped a game high 31, Todd Johnston and Julian Mills each added 13 and Connor McDaniel scored in double figures for the second straight game with 10.

Baker shot 38.8-percent from the field and held USM to 30-percent from behind the arc and played a relatively clean game with only 11 turnovers, while forcing 20 Spire turnovers.

Carter had a double-double with 11 rebounds and had a block, the 'Cats shot just 30.4-percent from behind the arc themselves shooting 7-of-23.

Baker will next take on Ottawa University on Saturday at 1 p.m. in day two of the HAAC/KCAC Classic.
