MARSHALL, Mo. – With a double overtime thrilling victory over Missouri Valley on Saturday evening, 80-77, the Baker University men's basketball team earned the No. 8 seed in next week's Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament.

The 'Cats ended the regular season on a two-game winning streak and will now take on No. 1 seeded Benedictine next Wednesday, Mar. 5 in Atchison, Kan.

The Wildcats survived the victory on a late three-point field goal by Connor McDaniel in the first overtime that forced double OT.

Baker held on in the second OT and improved to 11-18 overall and 5-13 in the HAAC. Javeion Gray had a game-high 24 points and hit some key free-throws down the stretch and the 'Cats dominated the boards outrebounding Mo Val, 44-30.

Todd Johnston hit two free-throws late in double OT and scored 18 and Tyrome Parker was the other Wildcat to score in double figures with 14.

Gray also had a team high eight assists and led the squad with eight rebounds, EJ Carter had a solid all-around game with nine points, and five rebounds.
