KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Baker men’s basketball (10-15, 6-9 HAAC) team opened up the game with a 37-33 lead heading into the break, but Avila put the game away early in the second half with a 16-4 run from which Baker was never able to recover, bowing 79-65.

Austin Bond led three Baker players in double figures with a team-high 15 points while shooting 7-for-10 from the field. Jaris Wommack added 12 points and Andre Strozier chipped in with 10.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker men’s basketball team needed to play a nearly flawless basketball game on Saturday afternoon according to head coach Brett Ballard.

The Wildcats managed to overcome 21 turnovers with a hot shooting second half going 11-for-19 (58 percent) from the field and 20-for-30 from the charity stripe.

FAYETTE, Mo. – The Baker men’s basketball took a three point lead late, but Curtis Smith hit a key 3-pointer for the Eagles with under 30 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Jaris Wommack led all Baker scorers with 20 points while shooting 8-for-17 from the floor. Andre Stozier added 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Jack Shotell and Austin Bond each chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively.

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Baker men’s basketball team gave it all they had on Saturday afternoon against No. 10 Lindenwood University.

Baker shot just 19-for-55 (35 percent) from the field, with Andre Strozier leading the offensive attack scoring a team-high 20 points. Corey Anderson added 11 points, but Lindenwood’s hot shooting stifled the Wildcats. The Lions went 28-for-53 (53 percent) from the field to improve to 20-2 overall on the season.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker men’s basketball team continues to ride its hot streak after defeating Benedictine College, 55-48 on Thursday evening for the first time since 2008.

Jaris Wommack led all Baker scorers with 16 points off 7-of-15 shooting from the floor. Joe Wachter added a career-high 10 points and knocked down two clutch free throws in the last 20 seconds to seal the Baker victory.
