BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker men’s basketball team trailed by as many as 12 points with four minutes to go and still managed to battle back and make it a game. Jaris Wommack had a last ditch effort from beyond the arc, but it wasn’t meant to be as Avila escaped on Thursday, 78-76.

LINDSBORG, Kan. – The Baker men’s basketball team got back on track Monday evening defeating Bethany College (Kan.) 83-73. The Wildcats‘ second half surge saved the day as Baker (5-9) went 19-for-30 from the field (63 percent) to close out the Swedes (5-9).

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Baker men’s basketball team dropped its second consecutive game on Saturday evening to No 23 Columbia College 45-69 in the final day of the Columbia College Classic.

Corey Anderson led all Baker scorers with a career-high 11 points, but the hot shooting of Columbia College stifled the Wildcats chances of pulling off the upset bid. The Cougars’ shot 46 percent from the field and outrebounded the Cats‘ 37-26. Henrique Medeiros led the Columbia with 13 points and three assists.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Baker men’s basketball team returned to action on Friday evening when it faced William Woods University in the first round of the Columbia College Classic.

Austin Bond led all Wildcat scorers with 13 points on 5-for-14 shooting from the floor. Andre Strozier added 10 points and Jaris Wommack chipped in with seven, but it wasn’t enough to slow down Andrew Miller of William Woods. Miller scored a team-high 24 points on 7-for-13 shooting from the floor en route to a 68-61 victory over the Wildcats.

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Baker men’s basketball team will be back in action on New Years Eve when it travels to Columbia, Mo., to take part in the Columbia College Classic. Friday evening the Wildcats will face William Woods University at 4 p.m. CST before facing host No. 23 Columbia College at 8 p.m. CST Saturday.
