Men’s Golf Signs Four Golfers for 2014-15

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Baker University head men's golf coach Karen Exon announces the signing of a four-man class to the 2014-15 BU men's golf team on Tuesday.

Exon is pleased to announce the signing of Aaron Brooks, Jefferson West HS (Meriden, Kan.), Logan Lashbrook Park Hill HS (Parkville, Mo.), Zach Spencer Olathe East HS (Olathe, Kan.) and Alec Wuellner Piper HS (Kansas City, Kan.).

Brooks was a four-year letter winner for the Kansas Class 4A Jefferson West HS golf program and played football for the Tigers.

Lashbrook was also a four-year letter winner for Park Hill HS. He competed in the Missouri Class 4 State Championship finishing 32nd in 2011 and 2012, 18th in 2013, and 10th in 2014.

Spencer competed on the varsity team for Kansas Class 6A Olathe East HS in 2013 and 2014. He finished 29th at the 2013 Kansas 6A Boys Golf Championship shooting 80 at Meadowbrook CC and 18th at the 2014 Kansas 6A Boys Golf Championship shooting 79 at Topeka CC.

Wuellner played all four years at Piper HS and competed in the Kansas Class 4A state golf championships all four years finishing T39 in 2011 at Prairie Dunes CC, T39 at Dub's Dread GC, 54th at Cherry Oakes GC and 7th in 2014 at Firekeeper GC.

He helped his team win a state championship in 2012 and a runner-up finish in 2013.

"I am very pleased to welcome Aaron, Logan, Zach, and Alec to the BU Men's Golf team," said Exon. "Each man is a strong student, good citizen, peer leader, and they are coachable with a demonstrated desire to get better as men and as golfers.

"We lost two strong seniors to 2014 graduation in Alex Zuzelski and Andy Kelley, who anchored our varsity team providing strong leadership on the golf course, and were solid leaders on campus and in the classroom. The incoming freshmen promise to do well academically, engaged effectively on our campus and larger community, and they have a chance to make an instant impact on our golf team."
