Conditions were outstanding both days with cool, crisp, sunny weather in the mid-70s. The field played well both days shooting strong scores. William Woods Varsity squad won the tournament followed by McKendree’s Varsity in second place. UA-Ft. Smith was third, Baker finished fourth, and Pittsburg State finished fifth. Baker University Senior Co-Captain Gavin Tatrn led the baker golfers with a 3-over-par two-day total shooting rounds of 73 and 74. Two freshmen, Mason Dick and Andy Sherman provided solid tournament outings. Mason Dick shot 1-over par 73 Monday and followed that up with a round of 79 on Tuesday. Andy Sherman shot 78 Monday and finished with a strong 3-over par 75 on Tuesday. Junior Adam Taylor played a strong role for the JV squad shooting rounds of 77 Monday and 79 Tuesday.
The next outing for the BU Varsity and JV Men is the 54-hole two-day Evangel University tournament hosted at Silo Ridge GC in Bolivar, MO Tuesday and Wednesday, September 15-16.
