The Baker men didn't play up to their standards on day one. "They didn't play with the appropriate patience and good golf course management," stated head coach Karen Exon. "We had the high team score of the day," Exon said.
Tuesday's round saw warm and very windy conditions with winds from the southwest at 25-30 mph with gusts over 40 mph. The windy conditions saw individual and team scores rise, although the Baker men posted an identical team score of 329. Gavin Tatrn (Topeka, Kan.) led the Baker squad with solid rounds of 80-79 for a two-day total of 159. Tatrn posted one of only 5 individual rounds in the 70's on the second day as the Baker men managed to beat the William Jewell squad by one stroke.
Baker will be back in action at the annual Baker University Spring Invitational at Alvarmar Golf Club, April 21-22. In the meantime the men will play an intra-squad tournament designed to work on golf course management in order to determine seeding for the BU spring tournament.
