Bethany College leads BU Invitational after day one

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Bethany College (Kan.) jumped out to a whopping 26 stroke lead to open up play at the two day Baker University Spring Invitational held at Alvamar Golf Club in Lawrence.

James Tisdale led the Swedes shooting a two round total of 144 (71,73). Ben Johnson (146), Jose Lelode Larrea (146), and Jack Hiscock (150) all rounded out the top five along with Avila’s Geoffrey Gahn who sits just one shot behind the leader after firing a 145.

Avila University sits in second place with a final total of 607 and Baker University holds down third place with a total of 628.

Mason Dick led all Baker golfers with a final total of 151 (70, 81), good enough for seventh overall. Andy Kelley finished with 158 (80, 78) and Michael Wissmann closed out with a 159 (80, 79) to round out the Wildcats top three.

Round three resumes on Thursday morning with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
