SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Baker University men’s golf team finished first out of three teams and the women’s team placed fifth out of 11 teams at Park University’s Fall Invitational at The Posse Golf Course in Smithville, Mo.

Baker’s men’s team finished five shots under Columbia College and 15 shots below Graceland to win the tournament.

Freshman Grant Grego finished just one shot out of first-place after shooting a first round score of 72 and a second round of 81 to finish with a two-round score of 153, just one above Tyler Kolb of Columbia College.

Alex Zuzelski and Andy Kelley finished in the top five with a fourth and fifth-place respectively. Zuzelski shot a two-round score of 154 and Kelley shot a 155.

Mason Dick finished in a tie for 6th-place, shooting a first-round 74 and a second round 83. Baker’s Kelley Thompson also competed for head coach Karen Exon this week and took home 15th.

On the women’s side, Baker finished ahead of six teams with a first round team score of 358 and a second round score of 371 for a total of 729.

Like she did at the Baker Fall Invitational in late September, Rebecca Holder finished the tournament with the lowest score for the Wildcats with a two-round score of 177, finishing in a tie for 17th with teammate Lindsey Mateer.

Rachel Strecker cracked the Top 25 with her 24th-place finish two-round score of 186. Morgan Miller took home 29th-place and had the shot of the tournament as she nailed a hole-in-one on the 8th hole on day one of the tournament and became the first Baker women’s golfer to ever hit a hole-in-one in tournament play.

Baker’s Emma Tinsley placed 47th during the two-day tournament with a first round 106 and a second round 100.
