Baker Wins Second Straight Tourney

MARSHALL, Mo. – The Baker University men's golf team won its second straight tournament on Tuesday afternoon defeating its Heart of America Athletic Conference counterparts by capturing the team title at the Missouri Valley College Fall Invitational at Indian Foothills Golf Course.

Baker shot a 304 on day one, then followed that up with a 309 for a 613 two-day score, five shots ahead of second-place Central Methodist.

Andy Kelley, Kelley Thompson, Grant Grego and Kyle Fectau all shot a two-day score of 154 to tie for sixth-place and Alex Zuzelskit finished with a 158 for the varsity.

The Baker JV team took ninth as a team with a 665 team total and Chad Phillips had the best two-rounds for Baker's JV squad with a two-day 161.

Christain Bickley broke 80 with a 79 on day one and finished with a 166. Aaron Stewart shot a 168, Zach Pickett shot 170 and Ryan Thompson shot 199, while medalist Hunter Thomas had a two-day score of 184.

Baker's fall season is now over and the Wildcats will next prepare for the Spring Season and the HAAC Tournament championship next May.
