Wildcats hit the road Tuesday evening for nonconference showdown with UMKC
The Baker men's soccer team will travel to UMKC on Tuesday for a key nonconference showdown at Durwood Stadium at 7 p.m.
The Baker men hold a 10-1-4 overall record and rank No. 16 in the NAIA top 25. The Kangaroos come into play with a 5-7-2 mark. University of Missouri at Kansas City leads the Summit League in several categories, including points (56), goals (23) and goals per game (1.61).
Seniors Matt Germain and Luke Haidarovic lead the charge for the Baker men. Germain and Haidarovic have each scored a goal in the past three games and lead the team with six apiece.
Junior Alex Burton continues to be stellar in goal after recording his sixth shutout of the season against conference rival Lindenwood last Saturday. Burton has recorded 57 saves on the season.
Gametime is slated for 7 p.m. in UMKC's new Durwood Soccer Stadium, which opened in Aug. 2009. The $9 million facility, considered one of the premier stadiums in the Midwest, was made possible thanks to a $5 million gift by Stanley H. Durwood.
The game will be televised live on Metro Sports TV.
