Junior Sean McAlister started the scoring when he ripped a shot past a leaping Chris Kalicak in the 59th minute to give the Wildcats a lead. Ethan Bauer netted a goal in the 78th minute to close out the game.
“It was really important to keep our focus and get our conference season started the right way,” Wildcat head coach Nate Houser said. “It definitely feels good starting out 2-0-0 rather than 0-0-2 like last season.”
The Wildcats (6-2-1, 2-0) will be back in action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to William Jewell College (9-0, 2-0) for an early-season conference showdown at 3 p.m. in Liberty, Mo.
