Baker (19-1-1) outshot Hutson-Tillotson 17-9 overall and 4-3 on goal. Byarly’s tally in overtime was the only shot for either team in the overtime period.
“The boys came out and gave an improving performance,” said head coach Nate Houser. “We were able to get past some final site jitters and heavy bus legs to have a very good second half and overtime. Hutson-Tillotson was a very technical team, and stretched us at various times. I give our team a lot of credit for solving those problems they presented us with. The men are very excited for their first-ever trip to the final round of eight.”
Baker goalkeeper Matt Bickley made three saves in the contest to record his ninth shutout of the season.
The Wildcats will play the winner of No. 6 Grand View (Iowa) and Great Falls (Mont.) on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CST.
