ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – As the Baker University men’s soccer team sits just hours away from participating in its first-ever NAIA Final Four, the NAIA has announced the Wildcats ranked second nationally with seven Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Nick Aguilar (Olathe, Kan.), Tony Weber (Olathe, Kan.), Michael Sheridan (Golden, Colo.), Drew Clement (Lenxa, Kan.), Laeth Hamil (Olathe, Kan.), Richard Klein (Prince George, Canada), and Josh Rydberg (Olathe, Kan.) were all named to the elite list.

“It’s fantastic that our men are being recognized for the hard work they do in the classroom in addition to the hardwork they do on the field,” said head coach Nate Houser. “For young men with two jobs, it’s very exciting to see them get rewarded for both of them.”

Goshen (Ind.) led the nation with eight NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Student-athletes are nominated by their institution's head coach and must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.
