The Cats’ went 9-1 a year ago at home and hope to continue that success this weekend. Baker enters the match, 0-1-1 overall after losing to No. 7 USAO in its season opener last weekend, 2-1, and tying Oklahoma City, 0-0, last Saturday in a lightning shortened game.
Matt Bickley and Brendan Allen have shared time in goal so far this season. Bickley played all 108 minutes against USAO registering eight saves and Allen played all 70 minutes of Baker’s tie with OCU and collected the shutout.
Donny George earned the Wildcats only goal so far this season against USAO. The Wildcats will look to get their offense back on track on Sunday, as a team they have taken just six shots on goal compared to 10 by its opponents.
UT-Brownsville has earned two ties in its first two matches this season, tying Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) 2-2, and tied Oklahoma City, 1-1. So both teams will be in search of its first win of the young season.
