The Scorpions improved to 1-0-2 on the year and remain unbeaten. The contest was tied up at 0-0 until the 73rd minute when Orrin Farrell scored the game-winning goal past Baker keeper Brendan Allen.
13 minutes later forward Leonardo Medeiros slipped past the Baker defenders and nailed a shot in the back of the net to give the Scorpions the 2-0 victory.
UTB attempted only four shots on the day with three on goal and the Wildcats had numerous chances with 15 shot attempts and four on goal.
Ben Perez received the win in goal for the Scorpions and saved three shots. Ethan Bauer took a team high three shots and three other Wildcats had two shot attempts including Ben Coyle, Cameron Zimmerman and Andy Griffin.
Baker will return to action this Thursday, Sept. 6 as they travel down the road to Kansas City, Mo., to face NCAA Division I UMKC at 7:30 p.m.
