SALINA, Kan. – The Baker University men’s soccer team picked up its third tie of the season on Sunday night with a 2-2 result after two overtimes at No. 15 Kansas Wesleyan.

Baker is now 2-3-3 on the season, while KWU stands at 4-2-2. The Coyotes scored quickly just over a minute into the match with a goal from Ricardo Raygoza and assist going to Jose Velasco.

KWU went up 2-0 in the 47th minute with a goal from Javier Cervantes and assist registered to teammate Bernard Rene.

Seven minutes later the Wildcats finally lit up the scoreboard with a goal from Ben Coyle in the 53rd minute. Then Baker tied it up at 2-2 with a goal from Cameron Zimmerman in the 62nd minute with the assist from Nick Aguilar.

It was a very evenly scored match, with Baker taking 14 shots and KWU taking 16. Kansas Wesleyan took seven shots on goal and the Wildcats attempted six on goal.

Andy Griffin and Coyle each took three shots and Reygoza led the way with four shots on the night.

There were 40 team fouls in the match with Baker being called for 21 and KWU whistled for 19.

The Wildcats will next take on Mid-America Christian at home this Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Central Methodist also at home on Sunday at 5 p.m.
