The ‘Cats fall to 3-4-1 on the year and 0-1 in the HAAC, while CMU improves to 7-2-1 and 1-0 in the conference.
The Wildcats hadn’t lost a home match since Sept. 2 before tonight, and hadn’t lost a game of any kind since the Sept. 6 loss at UMKC, 2-1.
The Eagles put Baker in a 2-0 hole with a goal in the 38th minute by Ricardo Valsien and another from Kendell Campbell in the 50th minute.
Amer Didic put the Wildcats within striking distance with his first career goal in the 55th minute. Ben Coyle threw the ball in from about 30 yards away and Didic nailed it in the back of the net past CMU keeper German Schacht.
Baker managed just seven shots on the day with two taken in the entire first half. Didic led the team with two shots.
The Eagles attempted 18 shots with 12 in the second half alone. Erwin Sanchez, Jr., took a team high five shots.
The Wildcats will next take on Avila University next Saturday, Oct. 6 on the road at 3:30 p.m.
