In a match that featured just three shots taken by both teams in the first half, the Wildcats lone goal came from senior leader Odaine Sinclair in the 61st minute with a beautiful pass and assist from freshman Amer Didic to push Baker to 5-4-3 overall and 2-1 in the HAAC.
With the loss, MNU falls to 8-1-5 and 1-1-1 in the HAAC and fell for the first time all season.
The shots picked up steam in the second half when Baker attempted nine shots and MNU took four.
The game went all the way to the end, as MNU had one final chance with less than two minutes left when Trent Remmich took a free kick from 10 yards out right in front of the Baker goal and pushed it left not touching a single Wildcat and earned Baker a goal kick by Brendan Allen.
Allen picked up the shutout win in goal with his two saves, Chris Ericksson received the loss for MNU and collected three saves along the way.
Andy Griffin and Sinclair tied for the team lead in shots taken and Remmich led the way with three shots for the Pioneers.
Baker will next travel to Lamoni, Iowa to take on Graceland University this Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
