Baker Falls to BC in High Scoring Match

ATCHISON, Kan. – The No. 11 ranked Benedictine College men’s soccer team scored all five of its goals in the second half to out-duel Baker University, 5-4, on Saturday night and improved to 10-2-2 and 4-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while the Wildcats fell to 6-5-3 and 3-2 in the HAAC.

Baker went up 2-0 early in the match with goals from Donny George and Odaine Sinclair in the 21st and 30th minutes respectively.

Then BC scored five straight unanswered goals to go up 5-2. The Wildcats then made a push late with goals from Andy Griffin in the 82nd minute and Rich Klein in the 90th minute, but it wasn’t enough as the Ravens won in front of its home crowd, 5-4, at the BC Soccer Complex.

The Wildcats took eight shots with five on goal and the Ravens took 13 with five on goal. Brendan Allen played all 90 minutes in goal for Baker and didn’t have a save on the night.

Joe Sbarro scored two goals for BC and led the team in shots with five. Sinclair and Griffin each led the team in shots with two. Baker will next take on No. 7 ranked Columbia College this Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., in Columbia, Mo.
