With the win, Baker improves to 8-5-4 overall and 5-2 in the HAAC and earned a bye in the first round of the HAAC Playoffs as the No. 2 seed. They will await the winner of the No. 3 vs. No. 6 seed match and will face that winner on next Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Liston Stadium.
Baker scored first in the match on a beautiful pass from Bauer to fellow senior Nate Byarlay. The defender headed the ball in the corner of the net past keeper Josh Wells in the 30th minute to put Baker up, 1-0.
With just two seconds left in the half, Nicholas Alexander placed a ball right inside the left post for a goal but offside was called and Baker went into halftime with the 1-0 lead.
Just six minutes into the second half, Mo Valley's Thomas Joseph tied things up with a goal past Baker's Matt Bickley and Alberto Linan-Gomez collected the assist.
Then Bauer put the game away in overtime with a goal just one minute into the half. Baker took 14 shots in the match, with five coming in the first half, eight in the second and the one in OT. MVC took just five shots on the night with three in the first and two in the second half.
