The match went a full 110 minutes with both teams scoring in regulation, as Thiago Ferreira scored in the 15th minute for Missouri Valley and Andy Griffin scored his team leading seventh goal in the 74th minute to tie things up.
Senior Ethan Bauer placed a perfect corner kick into the box for the assist and Griffin headed it home.
Then in penalty kicks, senior Nick Aguilar came up first for Baker and nailed his PK, then Nicholas Alexander sent a powerful kick past keeper Brendan Allen to tie it up, 1-1.
Next up for Baker was Donny George, the big defender nailed his PK past Josh Wells and Baker went up 2-1. Right after that Ferreira nailed his PK and we were knotted at 2-2.
Ethan Bauer then came up for Baker and had his shot miss, Raul Beneit then came up and put MVC up, 3-2 with a made PK.
Griffin then blasted his past Wells to tie it at 3-3. Carlos Berastain made things interesting by missing his PK and Nate Byarlay came through for Baker to give them the lead back at 4-3.
But that proved to be the final PK make for Baker, as Alberto Linan Gomez made his PK, Josh Rydberg missed his and keeper Wells missed his.
With the score tied at 4-4, Ben Coyle sailed his PK high and Mark Taylor nailed his to put the Mo Valley bench in a frenzy and Mo Valley advanced on a 5-4 PK win and will now travel to No. 1 Benedictine College this Saturday, Nov. 10 to take on the Ravens in the HAAC Championship in Atchison, Kan.
Baker ends the season with an overall record of 8-5-5.
