BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men's soccer team dropped its third straight match at North Park on Saturday afternoon in a tough 3-2 overtime loss to Oklahoma City University.

The Wildcats fell last week to AIB College of Business 1-0 at North Park and fell in its only match at North Park a year ago to UT-Brownsville, 2-0.

With the loss, Baker falls to 1-2, while the Stars improved to 1-0, winning its season opener.

Baker out shot the Stars, 21-15, but OCU had 10 shots on goal. Keeping Matt Bickley busy in goal, the senior had seven saves on the night and OCU's Joe Shulberg had six saves.

The scoring began in the fist half for OCU, as Adam Black knocked in a goal in just the fourth minute, with the assist coming from Kieran Mclachlan.

Then after the break, OCU scored again on a goal from Ruy Vaz to put them up 2-0. After a tackle was made inside the penalty area by OCU, senior Andy Griffin squared up a penalty kick up against Shulberg and sailed its past the keeper to put Baker within one goal, 2-1.

With just five minutes remaining in the match, Preston Phillips scored his first goal of the season and gave the Wildcats life tying up the match, 2-2.

But the tied score didn't last long, as Danny Frid slammed home a goal past Bickley just over two minutes into overtime and gave OCU its first win of the year.

Baker will now host No. 12 Columbia College this Monday, Sept. 2 on Labor Day at Liston Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
